JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT NIGERIA AWARD

The third edition of Junior Achievement Nigeria Company of the year for South-West Region has come and gone with lots of intrigues and surprises. This year’s competition took place on June 14, 2013 at Coral Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos. The competition, which is open to all schools in the South-West zone in the first instance,is a keen contest of business skills, ingenuity and innovation that focuses on practical accomplishment for students.After proper scrutiny, finalists were selected to showcase their talents before a panel of independent judges who evaluated each student’s company report, business presentation, trade booth display and interview performance.

          In the school’s presentation,Kletolite Company of Liberty Bells( an assumed company name), presented an antiseptic lotion for domestic use. It was represented by AdejugbeTemitope, alongside Achebe Esther, who analyzed the challenges the company had faced in the manufacture of the productand how these challenges were tackled. A total of twelve teams (companies) from different schools participated.  There were eight business presentations. After the judges’ collations and evaluations of results, three schools were announced as winners. They were UNILAG International School, Aunty Ayo Girls School and Liberty Bells Schools (Kleptolite Company), coming third, second and first positions respectively. These schools automatically qualify for the national completion competition in Abuja slated for October.

          The company, (Kleptolite) was represented at the competition by Adejugbe Temitope, Achebe Esther, Olateju Love, Osoata Anita, Imade Efosa and the company advisor Mr. Wusu Matthew.
