The sports arena in Badore, Ajah, was agog with a flurry of activities on that hot and balmy Saturday afternoon of March 16th, 2013, as Liberty Bells Schools hosted parents, invited guests, invited schools and the general public to its maiden inter-house sports competition.
After weeks of agitated preparations, the all-important day was at hand and the student body marched smartly past the stand for dignitaries in a riot of colours and styles. Performing houses for the day were Diamond, Onyx, Sapphire and Silver Houses.
After hours of grueling competition which actively involved parents and members of staff to the delight of the audience, ONYX HOUSE emerged the overall winner, with a grand total of 17 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals, while Diamond house was placed second with an impressive array of medals as well.
It was a day of sweat, determination and laughter, highlighting the cohesive nature of sports in the process of child empowerment.
